Fast forward-the Health reform bill passes
The most likely outcome will be:

The tort reform tests will pass but later prove to have no effect on health costs
the public option will die (for now) as watered down as it is (the money guys and all their puppets on both sides know better than to let that product get on the market)
the rest (Ben.caps, no sexist rates, no pre-existing conditions, no ripping up contracts by insurers) will pass

lots of crap will be thrown in (at least half by the Republicans)
and not one Republican will vote for it outside of the "Gang of Six" (or whatever it is called)

That is the most likely scenario. I am not saying I like it but that it probably how this round will go down....

....and then we bring it back up next year and the year after that and the year after that and so on

1. You forgot mandates
The "Mandate or Nothing" crew in Congress won't let them drop without killing the bill, period. Everything else is negotiable

2. Kucinich said almost exactly that. My fear is 'no pre-existing conditions,' but AT WHAT PRICE?
Of course they'll cover pre-existing conditions, as long as you pay $$$$$ for it!!!

Also, is this just a boon for the insurance companies after all?

If this is the bill, I'm with the teabaggers -- I don't want it to pass.
