Teabgger Called Big Eddie Trying To Say 1.7 Million Attended
Edited on Tue Sep-15-09 01:01 PM by WeDidIt
Big Eddie gave him what for. Played Beck saying a univeristy (which Beck never named) looked at the pictures and said 1.7 million. Aksed the caller which University and to cite a source. He could name no source other than "I know a guy in internal affairs".

DC Fire Department stands by the 60,000 - 70,000 estimate. Big Eddie had them called today, and they confirmed, 60,000 - 70,000 is their number.

And that's being damned gracious of the DC Fire Department because from everything I've ever heard, if the crowd doesn't extend past 4th street on the Mall, it's less than 50,000. The Teabaggers didn't extend past 3rd street.

1. Not a chance...
There were 1.8 at the inauguration! If there had been a crown like that, we would have had live shots from CNN and others.

Idiots can't even lie well.

3. Tops... 30K.
There were a number of video shots from the capitol steps, not true overhead, but overlooking the crowd.

From those videos, one can determine the extent of the crowd measured in sq ft. I didn't see from those videos anyone past 3rd street, and in the grassy areas (4 of them) that are directly in front of the capitol steps, only the three middle pie shaped wedges have people in them and the two outer ones are only half full.

Being very generous, I calculate about 6.6 to 8.1 acres were covered by the protest.

Now the closeups taken at the same time from ground level do NOT show a very densely packed crowd, there were many with lawn chairs and blankets and quite a few on "hover-rounds". Not to mention that at the extents, people were only clustered in small groups with a lot of space in between groups. Average density over the entire area is hard to come by without an overhead shot (scanned and posted at high resolution)... but my guess is about 12 Sq ft per person (a 3 ft x 4ft area).

Over the entire area covered... that's a crowd of 29,400.

And that's being VERY generous.

Probably closer to 18,000 to 22,000.

But no where NEAR 60,000.

5. They're definitely full of it. The metro would have been packed with teabaggers with that number
As it was, as of 5 p.m. on Saturday evening you couldn't find more than 3 or 4 TB's per car on the trains. There was very little foot traffic around the surrounding metro stops as well.

9. The reason they're pushing the "over a million" lie
is they want to settle for a "few hundred thousand" compromise.

This is how these fucks work.

7. The Fire Department is being generous
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the crowd in DC was smaller than the one that turned out to see Obama in Minneapolis on the same day.

Of course the media would never admit that.

8. Agreed
Being generous on the march picture touted by Malkin, that would be 25,000 because the march only stretched four blocks!
