Edited on Tue Sep-15-09 11:17 AM by Tony_FLADEM
finds someone who is unhappy with it.

For example, Obama's proposal to have a super regulator for the financial industry, why do they keep putting Shelia Baird on television to bash the idea.

Obama's decision to impose tariffs on Chinese tires - they haven't put the labor unions on television who agree with the idea - they put the business community on.

His idea to have a public option - even though a slight majority support this idea - you would never know this because you always see people on television who are against this.

1. Of course. That's what "journalism" is now. Find A, find B that objects to A, give A and B equal
weight so you can say you're balanced and unbiased and fair and objective.

2. They seem to think they HAVE to give time to the opposing view; 55/50 time
and completely forget the vote count from last fall. Might be nice if they would apportion time in the same percentages of the vote, but it won't happen.

3. Yes, within the first few sentences they always start on "but what do the
(minority) Republicans think?"

I don't recall the minority or even majority Dems ever getting immediate mention whenever Bush said or did or proposed a thing.

4. Obama should recommend . . .
. . . people brush and floss for the National Childrens Dental Health Month. I'm sure there would be fundies objecting to that with something like "if god had meant us to brush our teeth he would have given us a toothbrush instead of one of our fingers." Or something equally stupid. Flossing, of course, can cause some bleeding. Blood is red. Red is communistic.

6. Yup, They call it "balance".
But when Bush announces a policy proposal, they would try to portray any opposition view as coming from some irrelevant left fringe extremists.
