If you talk to a contrite/disillusioned Bush voter
don't forget to discuss how the entire GOP supported a blank check/blind eye approach. The problem was not Bush's alone. The GOP Congress was the worst of enablers.

1. This is how I've been dealing with them...
when the chink in their armor starts showing (especially relatives): "You have been lied to, you have been manipulated, you have been HAD by the bushies. You are too smart a person to fall for their lies any longer." I have yet to find one that didn't at least admit they were lied to. Some still spew a few talking points or a "Clenis", but I can quickly shut them down. Next comes a sheepish, head down, shuffle the feet change of subject. I have a cousin, ex-military, rushbot, very smart girl who would practically stand on a table at family gatherings and preach bushisms at 90db 8 years ago. Now, she will NOT talk politics. She knows.

3. I'm personally relishing every big fat ill-mannered "I told ya so" I can get in
Republicans have no right to complain about civility. I'm gettin' my licks in before the buzzer.

And no, not the kind of licks you see in my sigfile

4. I run into uneasiness, avoidance of the topic of having been a
*supporter, and angry comments about the war. It seems sort of like the way that (some) little kids act when they are caught doing no-no's.

6. Wish we could point out how Clinton was nice to them and Bush was sadistic to us.
Clinton did what was right and didn't worry about who it helped. Bush wanted to make sure that he helped his friends and punished his enemies. The result is that America was punished. This is the WORST leadership this country has ever had. No leader would act this way.

7. A line I use is
They fucked with your head.

It seems to help them get the fact that they are the victims of a major phsyops campaign without demeaning or belittleing their intelligence. That they fell victim to a carefully calculted plot to mislead.
Once enough of them realize they have been had-look out.
