1. somewhere else I read,
the only thing worse than unions are the reasons they came about.

How do you think the WJ or WSJ would react to another fire that killed 200 children working in a sweatshop in New York? Jeez, people forget or just don't know the reasons why unions came about. They don't know about company towns, company stores or the back breaking work that was done only to be paid for with a note that said you owed more than you made.

I'm sorry I didn't read the article posted, I'll try to later. That is the Washington Journal, correct?

2. Wow, look how out of touch this nation and its corporate media have become.
To even ask the question is stupid.

Unions that brought child labor laws, reduced working hours to 40 a week, ensured health and safety standards.

Does your 5 year old still have both arms? You can thank the Unions for stopping the practice of sending young children under factory machines to clean them While They Were Running (you had to have children, adults were just too big to fit).

And WJ asks are Unions good for the economy? How about are Unions good for life liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

4. Notice that even on Labor Day
CSpan has no interest in presenting a program on the rise of the labor movement.

8. How many unswervingly anti-union people are IN a union...
if the union pisses people off THAT much, why aren't they looking for work elsewhere, as means of standing up for their principles...

(I know why, but that's beside the point... :D )

12. Typical CSPIN Framing...
It's like unions are some kind of disease that prevents business and the country from prospering. Bullshit. Just look at how downhill our economy and job base has gone over the last 30 years of union busting and the quality of life. But since this is a corporate own medium, labor is a necessary evil...an expense, never an asset.

Cheers...

:hi:
