Republican faux outrage of Obama legitimizes the Bush administration.
How many times do you just shake your head at the latest outrage from the likes of the teabaggers, Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh when they call Obama a fascist or have Obama in Nazi uniform? It's clear that this an effort to delegitimize criticism of Bush in a "oh, well, the left had pictures of Bush as a Nazi, so what's wrong with us calling Obama a Nazi?" sort of way. The comparisons are laughable, but in pounding Obama with these accusations they actually legitimize the Bush administration. The media lumps both criticism of Bush and criticism of Obama into a "political discourse in America has reached a fevered pitch" news item and then they move on. The problem is this, Obama's only failing thus far has been harboring the Bush administration criminals, there really is no comparison what so ever, but the media has equated the two by highlighting the likes of the teabaggers and Glenn Beck. Obama didn't lie us into a war or set up illegal torture programs. This is the media's effort at Bush legacy building, after a while all be forgotten about Bush crimes and George Bush will be able to show his face in public as an elder statesmen, the "Hero of the Iraq War".

1. You're preaching to the choir here. What can we do about it?

3. "Hero of the Iraq War"
That ain't gonna happen. Who is this media you speak of? We got the Bush years saved to digital, HD video for all the world to see as long as there is an internet. He'll never have the luxury of past incompetent/criminal administrations whose history became buried and eventually sanitized in old text with crummy or no photo's. No, George W. Bush's legacy will live on, fresh as it happened yesterday, for the whole world to marvel in his supreme incompetence and idiocy. Someday, this same boy-king will wake up and realize just how ignorant his proclamation that, when it comes to his legacy and history, "who cares? We'll all be dead", was yet another deeply stupid observation of a hubristic, little man.

My only consolation for having seen this country suffer through 8 years of Bush rule will be his everlasting infamy as "the worst President ever".

4. As I recall, the preferred term was "Fascist", not "Nazi" re: BushCo*
Since the willfully ignorant minions of the RW can't have no idea what a "fascist" is, they've defaulted to the term "nazi".

Expect no explanation of the term "fascist" either. If "Teh Peoples" knew what it meant, their anger might turn on their handlers - where it belongs.
