4. It was said by long-time Kennedy Aide Melody Miller, per CBS
"He's gone to the funeral of every soldier who's come home from Iraq in a casket, whether it's up in Massachusetts or at Arlington Cemetery. And it's hard. But he knows it pays respect for giving the last full measure that these young soldiers have given. And after he goes to that funeral, he goes up and visits the graves of his brothers," according to long-time Kennedy aide Melody Miller.

I don't know if it's verified or not.

5. It sounds like something he would do.......
and I know that he did leave after chemo to attend a funeral and counsel the family.

6. I saw a report at the end of ABC News yesterday, I think it was
in which it was mentioned that he made personal contact with the families of all Mass 9/11 victims as well. He stayed in touch and asked them to let him know if they needed anything, and if they asked for it, they got it. He invited them to go sailing with him, and painted sailing pictures for them that they cherish for what they represent.

7. Someone mentioned on one of the shows last night
That Ted Kennedy while getting chemo saw that 2 soldiers from the same Mass town were killed, one in Afghanistan the other in Iraq and he went to see the families after the chemo telling them that the first year would always be the hardest when Christmas, birthdays, holidays, etc. came around. That it would get better but still you'd never forget.

8. I don't know how he did it.
Attending all those funerals, writing all those letters, making all those phone calls, authoring all that legislation. I would've had to retire years ago. He, unlike many in Congress, never forgot that he was representing people -- he always had that human touch. I wish I had a senator that's half the man Ted Kennedy was.
