Ron Kind (D-WI) town hall on CSPAN. Who saw the lady....
Edited on Tue Aug-25-09 10:42 AM by dem629
who started off by saying, "As a Christian, if we get a health care bill, and I hope we don't!" (Applause)

She's so religious she hopes people don't get the same coverage that she has. Nice. (Judging by this lady's apparent age, there's no doubt she's in possession of a Medicare card. Hypocrite.)

Then later, a pro-reform guy got up and quoted the line about "whatever you do to the least of my brothers you do to me" and got a huge response from other pro-reformers in the audience, and Congressman Kind was smiling and nodding his head.

Great scene.

1. A true christian wouldn't deny health coverage to those without. She can take her interpetation of
the bible and stuff it up her fundie you know what.

2. American Christins, a lot of them anyway, don't like Matthew 25.

3. Which insurance providers would Jesus accept?
Was he a Blue Cross Blue Shield kind of guy?

Freakin' idiots. Every single one of them.

4. Again, her Holy Bible, like those of her ignorant brethren, has no Book of Matthew.
How convenient for them; but I prefer to live the challenge presented in Matthew--and yes, it can get VERY difficult.

5. That's how she chooses to treat Jesus...
'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Matthew 25:40

6. She must belong to the "Doug Coe" branch of Christianity.
I'd like to ask one of these people just how being "pro-life" adds up to being "pro-gun" and "anti-healthcare reform."

7. Thanks for sharing that. I saw the women you referred to but
was away from the TV when the pro-reform guy made that statement. Good to hear.

Ron Kind is my representative and it was interesting actually seeing a few people I knew there, plus one of my previous doctors. I liked the lady who reminded the audience, a good majority of them seniors, that they are enjoying medicare and social security.

8. I am a nonbeliever, however . . .
it would give me great pleasure if Jesus came down from the clouds and bitch slapped some of these people.

9. He's been bitch slapping many of them already
with lost jobs, foreclosures, and unpaid bills. The chickens of American materialism come home to rest. Athiest here, but somehow I'm still blessed with a good job, modest home, good healthcare. Maybe it was all the poor people I've helped over the years?
