1. Alternatively, we could derive some benefit from the zillions of dollars spent . . .
On the NSA and get them to do the recovery. Surely *they've* been watching . . .

2. Could they really be stupid enough to think that explanation
was going to fly??

I guess that was a stupid question. They just don't care.

3. Nothing is ever truly lost.
For a smooth 1k I had my entire hard drive (that was FRIED) recovered, thus saving several years of graphic design and illustration files from certain death.

The only way to delete emails permanently, is to delete them permanently on purpose.

4. My wife even laughed at these clowns
thinking that saying "Oops, I lost them" mean e-mails are "missing" or "lost." Think Poppy Bush and grocery scanners; these Patrician silver-spoon fuckwads don't know (or give) a fuck about technology and what "average Joe" does with it. They're clueless. "Ooh, Karl, did you hit the 'delete' key?" These are technological idiots. Obviously.

5. Got to hope they haven't purged the SERVER LOGS...those are golden eggs
Congress should subpoena the hard drives of all the laptops and servers. Even if a file has been deleted, that data can, and often does, remain on the hard drive. It stays there until something else overwrites it.

So, unless the RNC and their minions have zeroed out all of the hard drives on all of the email servers, there may be lots of data there for the picking. If congress hurries...
