Could We (DU) Do A "Roses For Molly" Thing?
Someone else posted about having a big anti-war march near where she is, as a tribute. Wonderful idea:)

1. I read yesterday or the day before that she requested no more flowers.
Sorry, I have to leave for work and don't have time to find the link. But she's gotten hundreds and hundreds of flowers, and asks that we make donations or work for progressive causes instead.

A sweet idea, though. We all love Molly.

2. That's Cool
Then how about if we start a donation drive for progressive causes, in honor of Molly?

3. I posted and I think the tribute should be nationwide (in the streets)
Edited on Sun Jan-28-07 09:55 AM by fed-up
"Raise hell," she urged readers. "Think of something ridiculous to make the ridiculous look ridiculous. ... We need people in the streets, banging pots and pans and demanding, 'Stop it, now!'

The tribute would not be just near where Molly is, but throughout the nation
It needs to be done while she is still alive as a celebration of her life

I realize there was a massive protest yesterday and thinking about another may be too much for some, but the only way to end this war and bring home our boys is to be relentless in our actions.

8. Why not a donation from DU to an organization Molly specifies?
It seems that it would accomplish our desire to acknowledge her contributions and Molly's own passion for change. We could collect the funds using the same process we did for Helen's roses and the present the check to her as a gift from DU.
