In a recent interview with the editorial board of a local Montana paper, Senate Finance Committee chair Max Baucus (D-MT) continued his advocacy for a “bipartisan” approach to health care, arguing that “it’s better for the country.” Yet, he also admitted that the GOP leadership is putting “intense political pressure” on his committee colleagues Olympia Snowe, Chuck Grassley, and Mike Enzi to defeat any health care bill:

“The Republican leadership in the Senate and in the House is doing its utmost to kill this bill,” he said. “They are putting intense political pressure on Chuck Grassley, Olympia Snow and Mike Enzi, to bow out, because they want to kill it. So I’ve got a challenge ahead of me to work out all this on policy as we go through these meetings.

1. baucus is feeling the heat is my guess
He should be hung by the neck with a strong rope until he quits his shennaganins. The man is simply bought and paid for, nothing more or nothing less.

2. If the Republicans want Enzi, Snowe and Grassley to bow out - let them!
for f!@#s sake - let them bow out! Shut down this waste of time negotiation.

Senator Baucus - I challenge you to submit your own Novemeber 2008 Health Reform whitepaper which included a public option option and an insurance exchange as the Finance plan and be done with it.

3. And you're not, Mr. Baucus???
With the majority of your committee Democrats, why in hell did you decide to make a sub committee with 3 repukes and 3 Dems? To me it is very obvious. You didn't want the insurance companies to stop contributing to you. Actually, I will blame you if health reform is killed. You are the instigator. You are a two faced SOB!!!

4. I don't give a flying f*#k what kind of a plan Max Baucus wants
I never voted for him.

I want to know what kind of a plan Obama wants.

And I want to hear it from Obama. Not Baucus. Not Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi. Not Kathleen Sebelius. Especially not Mr DLC Rahm Emanuel.

From Obama. And I'm disappointed that I haven't heard it yet.

And I'm guessing there are a hell of a lot of people like me out there.

5. All Baucus and the rest of the dogs have to do is
vote for cloture, then vote against the bill on the floor. I believe there are 50 votes + Biden so the bill is passed. The dogs have covered their butts to protect the lobby money and we get health care reform. OK I know I'm naive but just sayin.
