Well, don't forget Blackwater, they are still plenty bad. British PMC called G4S - 586,900 employees worldwide. They own Wackenhut and they recently acquired British PMC Armorgroup. Looks like the Private Military Contractor business is cocooning itself and will reemerge during the next Republican administration to be something even more entirely unholy than what we had under Bush.

2. Scary
But as you said, let's not forget Blackwater/Xe. They are an American company, and Americans need to speak out about it and get the investigations rolling.

3. KBR
What? You thought I was talking about Kellogg, Brown & Root?

Kicked. Bookmarked. Recommended.

Thanks for the important info, arcadian. The twisted British aristos and their American lickspittles are big components of War Inc.

What are the Key Characteristics of a Successful Electronic Monitoring Program?

Key Characteristics of a successful electronic monitoring program are:

* Strong support from stakeholders. Stakeholders include sentencers, police, probation services, prisons, the media, and the general public. It is easily overlooked and it is important to have a high profile 'champion'. Most programs grow much more slowly than policy makers would like, this is often because sentencers are not sufficiently involved which makes them nervous and leads to limited use. Sentencers are a key target group and unless they understand electronic monitoring, the program will fail. It is important to maintain contact with this group throughout the program to reinforce best practices. Aim to cultivate a number of high profile opinion leaders to ensure success.

Whenever I hear the phrase "Public Safety", my mind immediately thinks of Katrina.

G4S Public Safety Solutions

G4S Public Safety Solutions experience consultants can help any agency's leadership by providing support that gives them the tools they need to focus on the future without detracting from their ability to meet their day-to-day responsibilities. Utilizing G4S's solutions to help you design or document a direction, improve your management team, communicate well with your staff and outside partners, and develop realistic work plans to enact new initiatives and reforms include:

* Assist in developing strategic plans and visions for the future
* Help government and non-profits in developing restructuring, reorganization, or consolidation plans that will reduce duplication and increase efficiency
* Assist in developing comprehensive work plans that allows agencies to implement changes and track progress
* Develop performance measures that will track and document progress
* Develop comprehensive solutions involving multiple facets and teaming partners that provide more strategic solutions to complex organizational issues

Failure to maintain adequate business practices results in millions of dollars in questioned costs and funds unnecessarily returned to the Federal, State, or Local Government. Contracting for assistance in these areas would provide a low-risk alternative to developing new systems.

Just yuck. We're so screwed. These people are international, I don't even think the Blackwater goons are international.

The ultimate police state, go global!
