A Constitutional case for health care reform
Article 1 - The Legislative Branch, Section 8 - Powers of Congress

First paragraph:

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

welfare n. 1. health, happiness, or prosperity; well-being.

"Yeah, there those America-hating liberals go, ripping this country apart with their Socialist/Marxism/fascism/Nazism/fill-in-the-blank-ism."

Pardon me, but I believe the Constitution and the well-being of our society trump corporatism and profit margins. Care to offer a counter-argument?

1. Even easier
Article I, Section 8 (If memory serves correct)
regulating commerce
health care is commerce, i.e. buying and selling a commodity
Article I, Section 8, Clause 18
necessary and proper clause

Simple enough. End of discussion.

3. Don't knock leeches!
They're being used in modern medicine; leeches help heal skin grafts and they can restore blood flow in blocked veins.

5. Do you think they were talking about healthcare?
I don't, but as reply #1 pointed out, the point is moot.
