Michael Moore Responds

Dear GOP:

That is so cool! I knew you guys were more than just all Lee Greenwood and Pat Boone. Let me expand on my remarks.

You see, Obama is LeBron and you are the Clippers. The Clippers know that LeBron is going to fake right and go left, but it doesn't matter — they're still the Clippers and he's LeBron and he's going to make the basket. Even if he shouted at the Clippers as he's coming down the court, "Hey, I'm gonna fake right and go left when I get to the basket," they still aren't going to stop him. And you, the GOP, are not going to stop Obama and you are not going to stop the will of the American people. Just as the Clippers can somehow still get thousands to come see them play, you are able to pack town hall meetings with your fans. Good on you! Keep it up!

Now, what do you know about Obama's hook shot?

– Michael Moore

Dear Michael Moore, We Read Rolling Stone

Michael Moore In Current Issue Of Rolling Stone: “If a true public option is enacted -- and Obama knows this -- it will eventually bring about a single payer system, because the profit-making insurance companies won't be able to compete with a government run plan and make the profits they want to make … I probably shouldn't be saying this, but I'm counting on the fact that Republicans won't be reading this Rolling Stone.” (Taegan Goddard, “Michael Moore On The Public Option,” CQ Politics’ “Political Wire” Blog,

I've been trying to keep my mouth shut about this, but now that the cat is out of the bag.....

I'm sure there'd still be jobs somewhere for the paper pushers and bean counters, but the $100-mil fat cats would have to go. Works for me.

4. The GOP doesn't have to read Rolling Stone to know that the public option is a threat.
Their health-insurance-company lords and masters know what the threat is, and they pay their GOP lackeys well to care about those threats.

6. And the kicker is - if single-payer is enacted the insurance co.s only have to be better at
providing health coverage than a bloated, inefficient, bureaucratic govt agency.

What are they afraid of?

8. This is nonsense. Right up there with the state "withering away". The HCos are laughing to the bank

There will be no public option and fining people who do not have HC, which yuppie elitists in both parties are only too happy to do proves it.

Sad to see MM selling out and becoming another shill for whichever plan Dems in Congress are backing.

There's no such thing as an "option" if a fine exists for people who choose not to purchase health insurance as a PRIVATE CONSUMER GOOD, which is what it will remain and be enshrined as -- the duty of the citizen to purchse as a subject of the CorpState you guys are constructing.

11. Yes, they will fine individuals who don't contribute to the private companies
but will the HCOs be fined when they get caught denying someone coverage or not paying claims? They might be, but I'm guessing the fines for them they will just consider them part of the cost of doing business and they'll yell about "regulation". Like Walmart does with the fines it gets for violating labor laws.
