"I firmly believe the entire world is caught up in a sinister plot to make me look crazy."
This, as everybody knows, is the event horizon for conspiracy theorists. Once you get to this point, there's no turning back.

This is why I believe this week marks the beginning of the end of the Birthers' emergence into mainstream politics. Orly Taitz and the rest are in a no-win situation:

If they do the sensible thing and announce the so-called "Kenyan Birth Certificate" for what it is, an obvious forgery, they instantly lose any and all credibility among much of their own followers.

If they stick to their guns and claim the forgery is real, they will never be able to make the same claim twice. They had their one shot to produce a convincing fake--and they blew it.

It looks like they're going with Option B: they've decided the Australian grandfather, the poor bloke whose Birth Certificate was swiped off a family genealogical website and covered with all sorts of bogus faux-African crap, is the fraud. They've begun posting his contact info online so their followers will harass an innocent private citizen on the other side of the world for being, quote unquote, "part of Obama's army of con artists."

Those who have a scintilla of intelligence will flee the sinking ship.

The rest are going down the rabbit hole, and they ain't coming back.

4. You're joking, right?
The guy was on Australian radio and clearly had nothing to do with any of this nonsense. His BC was online, in a JPG attached to a family genealogical site, since 2006 or so. How can it be photoshopped?

5. no no.. his (perfectly valid) online BC jpg was used as the source for the wingnut BC
which was 'shopped and then sold to oily taintz.
It was probbaly chosen because it was a nice, hi-res scanned image from about the correct time period.

13. I don't think "interesting" is the operative adjective here.

Her interview the other day exposed her for what she is: an irrational, paranoid, racist nutjob who is only capable of nonsensical ranting and raving and doesn't have one shred of proof for what she espouses.

Interesting? Nah.

More like, stick a fork in her after that very, very revealing "interview."

15. I wonder how an Australian
would go about suing an American? Oily titties should be held responsible for making this guy's life a living hell. Can't imagine what it would be like trying to deal rationally with these wingnuts.
