before the invasion, when all those candlelight vigils were held around the nation. I proudly marched in protest against the domestic terrorists who have hijacked our country and still occupy our White House.

I'm angry. I'm angry at the 'antiwar' protesters who heaped abuse on our troops. And I'm angry at the people who couldn't be bothered to stand up for our troops yesterday.

Tens of thousands of anti-American leftists and their dupes marched on our nation's capital calling for America's defeat in the war on terror in Iraq.

Only about forty people could be bothered to turn out in support of America's victory in Iraq. Among those forty was a civilian POW held by the North Vietnamese communists and several Iraq war veterans--including wounded warriors who left the hospital to stand up for their brothers in arms on the home front.

-------------------------

When one of the 'armchair' freeps argued the numbers, one of the organizers jumped back at him! (If they're claiming 40 in public ... I figure half that is being generous.)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1775257/posts?page=59#59
To: BluH2o
Tens of thousands? Obviously you're buying into the Washington Post, NY Times numbers ... actual count from more reliable sources put the number closer ... 6 to 8 thousand.
Hello?!

We were there. We watched them march by us - for two hours. I drove around their rally perimeter and saw the crowds with my own eyes. They had tens of thousands.

Whoever your "reliable sources" were are blowing smoke out of their butts with that 6-8k number.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1775257/posts?page=104#104
The commies had movie "stars" and politicians ... we had a couple dozen FReepers and soldiers. Pathetic!!!

It's what John Wilkes Booth yelled out just after he killed Abraham Lincoln.

This is a freeper's idea of a subtle threat, because in order to understand it, you have to have at least skimmed a third grade history book.

Almost.

Part of me wants to admire them ( :puke: ) for getting out there, using their right to free speech and assembly, and protesting for what they believe is right...but then the logical part of me kicks in and reminds me that a) these are generally the type of people who want to take away all of our rights and torture us when we disagree with them, and b) by supporting the war, they're basically advocating murder. So, yeah, they have their right to free speech, I'm not arguing that...but in this case, they're dead wrong and I'm glad there aren't very many of them. :grr:

"Fifty to 100 members of the Washington chapter of the conservative organization FreeRepublic.com plan to rally near the U.S. Navy Memorial to oppose the march and the participation of Jane Fonda, the chapter said. The actress has long been the object of conservative ire for her support of North Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

"These groups are the ones that are acting as the political arm of the terrorists overseas to help bring about America's defeat in the war on terror," said Kristinn Taylor of FreeRepublic.com."

50. Silly, that's just the number that *planned* to rally. The number that were
actually able to find their way out of Mom's basement and get over there were, understandably, much lower.

These guys find it real easy to 'plan' to be somewhere. Actually getting off their asses and getting there, where they'd be in a miniscule minority, is a distinctly different thing. They always seem to be 'planning' something, though it's a rare thing when anything actually comes of it.

56. I counted no more than 16 Freepers at the "rally"...
When I was at the rally at the Navy War Memorial, the Freepers were standing across the street protesting against Jane Fonda's presence their and there were only 16 of them...Later, when we marched near the Capital and where I think your photos were taken, there were about 14 there and they were holding ridiculous signs including one that said "CodePink funds Terrorists"....

I actually felt bad for them...they were so irrelevant and so....alone.

They’re’ so afraid that their hard earned money will go to help people other then themselves.
They have a charity begins at home mentality.

102. I was surprised at my own rage as I walked by these tools.
I looked at them and didn't see them - I saw Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly and all the haters who have spewed their venom at us for so many years, and I just wanted to clock one of the clowns. I can't even remember what I yelled at them, but I really didn't want that fence to be there. Obviously, they are just ignoramuses and tools who are also getting the shaft on their pensions and health care, but I didn't care - I wanted to hate them back, and I felt empowered that we were together to confront them. They can dismiss us all they want, but they stood there as the friends and families walked by endlessly, and I hope they were unsettled by it. I doubt it, though. They were at best trained monkeys. Manchurian Candidates.
