6. I've drawn some comparisons to the Truthers...

and even that's gotten me some nastygrams.

That said, I really don't see the comparison between Obama's birth and Bush's TANG service, except in as much as both are looking at records from a president's past. That's pretty much where the comparison ends.

There was a dirth of documentation to back up Bush's claims of serving, and his wandering around the country and changing units all the while being a trained pilot during a time of war raised a few eye brows. No one was making this stuff up. The NG folks didn't create the name "the champagne squadron". And there were few if any folks particularly ready to say they had ever seen him.

Contrast and compare with the birthers who have no evidence he was born anywhere except where the documentation actually says he was born. Even without said evidence, the fact that he is the child of an American citizen pretty much ends the discussion. And yet these folks spin on and on about "facts" that don't exist.

certificate". If they admit there is one, when their crazy listeners go online to find it, they might say "hey, there really is proof, and maybe it's not a fake." You will NOT hear rush say 'he has one, but it's fake'. That is a path he will not go down.
