Well, there's three guys right? a six pack won't even loosen the tongue. A teener (6 beers each) would get things going. A case or thirty pack may require adult supervision. And why do they wait until so late in the day? Don't most of you hit the beer when the coffee is gone?

25. not sure about DC but VA does not have the 30 pack
for some reason we have decided our beer will be miller...and in VA a 12 pack was sumptin....then they introduced the 24 pack..well we are three so we each get a mini case...then when we moved to MI we discovered the 30 pack..the same price as we used to pay for the 24 pack...thought we moved to beer heaven!

28. I buy that all the time
cheap and plentiful, the best kind of beer there is :) I alternate between that and Lone Star for my cheap beers, for good beer I buy Guinness, Rolling Rock or St Arnolds Lawnmower (Houston brewery, awesome beer)

No Fat Tire, or Dead Guy Ale, or Double Wide IPA.

How lame is that?

And Red Stripe is cool ONLY, when it is accompanied by that OTHER great Jamaican homegrown product.

42. By alcohol content, Three Philosophers is the better bargain
You'd need a 12 pack of Billy to match one bottle of three philosophers.

Unless you spike it with Everclear.

In which case, ditch the billy beer and keep the Everclear.

57. Great Lakes Blackout Stout isn't bad, either....

Only 9% ABV, but a nice sweet caramel note to offset the roasted malt/chocolate base.

Not as silky as Guinness, but not too bad.

47. That's the best possible scenario.
Worst scenario: lots of platitudes and fake smiles as they pretend to drink for the cameras.

I wouldn't mind hearing Gates telling Crowley to take his racist beer and stick it where the sun don't shine and Crowley to follow up with some comment about uppity Harvard professors. Obama kicks Crowley in the nads, Crowley throws his beer at Obama and the Secret Service wrestle Crowley and his assaulting beer to the ground. That would make news.

27. Last time I climbed Windy Peak I brought a teener.
Any more than that adds too much weight to your pack and it makes it harder to get to the summit, especially if you stop and have a few to lighten the load.

So I recommend no more than a teener.

Because when I think of beer, I think of IMBEV.

And Denver is one of the best BEER brewing cities in the whole country.
Ever hear of the Bull and Bush in Cherry Creek in Denver?
GREAT BEER.
They make a beer called MAN BEER.
Ooohhh, I LIKE Coors.

Sorry, you don't belong in this discussion.

Do you know how to use GOOGLE?
You know, to look up FACTS, before you post.

"The Coors Brewing Company is a regional division of the world’s fourth-largest brewing company, the Molson Coors Brewing Company, which was created in 2005. The most popular of their brews include: Coors Original ("Banquet"), Coors Light, Killian's Irish Red, Blue Moon, Keystone, and who can forget... Zima".

Politics aside, and in taste only, I personally do not like one SINGLE beer that Coors distributes in the U.S.
On the other hand, Caffrey’s Irish Ale, my favorite beer possibly ever, was purchased by Coors from Interbrew and killed in the U.S. so that Coors can distribute the swill they call Killian's Red.

Any questions?

56. You're wrong
The whole point of the varied selection is to suggest respect for individual differences, and to avoid accusations of turning the thing into a photo op for the administration's economic policy. Barack Obama may not even like Bud Light but my guess is he's drinking it specifically because it's so light and inoffensive that it says he can be sociable but isn't planning to drink much.

The crime of Bud light is not that it's made by Inbev - in fact it's still made by Budweiser, it's just that that company has been bought by Inbev - but that it's horrible watery beer. It's not about the beer, it's about conciliating hurt feelings.

its horribly bland, thin and cheap. I live in Wisconsin where we have no shortage of good brews. Still even Coors and Miller are much better tasting than bud.

This is nothing but political pandering. I guess if he buys too expensive a beer it would be somehow "elitist".
