Dean accuses media of devouring repub talking points on healthcare
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/21/howard-dean-dismisses-cri_n_242207.html

Speaking about health care on Tuesday, Gov. Howard Dean said the media "hate that they can't take down Obama, so they're using every Republican talking point to try." According to Dean, health reform is "doing very well."

Dean, a physician who is closely involved with the issue politically, emphasized the importance of a public health care option to compete with private insurers. A bill without such a provision is "not worth passing" as it would not control costs, he argued, at a conference hosted by Campus Progress in Washington, D.C.

1. I've been saying this all day......
for a while now.

I think we should be mad as hell, that the media takes it upon itself
to attempt to manipulate the information that is being discussed
on health care.

This President ran on health care reform,
and was elected by a majority.

The media is attempting to run rough shots
against the American Majority.
They are traitors!

7. Everyone should read your thread, why isn't the media helping us?

The answer of course is the ad dollars they get from insurance companies, but we should call them on it.

9. Everyone is talking to each other, when we should be fighting this media.....
they have the microphone, and they keep handing it to the Republicans,
who lost the last elections.

They need to be called on this.

I'm tired of the corporate media hacks that pose as reporters....

I just called CNN and told them just that.
Now, I'm about to call MSNBC.

Next will be some letter writing.
Wish I would get some help with this.
If we don't pressure the media,
they get what they want,
and we get pissed on some more.

2. As usual, Dr. Dean is absolutely correct.
Think of where we might be today if he had taken the oath of office in January 2005.

God damn the DLC to an eternity in Hell for sabotaging that :grr:

6. All I hear on the media is Republican talking points
Apparently, the MSM thinks its audience is only about 30% of the country, and the rest of us have no viewpoint.

They feed on sensationalism - which is what Republicans do best. . .outrageous statements, insulting remarks, all get the media's attention immediately as "news". . .and yet we don't seem to recognize how that game is played.

8. So are the insurance companies. Their stock is holding very steady. I'm thinking it would be a very
time to invest, because in couple of years they are going to get another 50 million or so captive customers.

11. Absolutely!
We need to push back against this narrative. The sheeple will swallow this corporate propaganda hook line and sinker. Its bad enough we have to beg the Blue Dogs to vote for something that is a plank in the Democratic platform - now we have to battle the MSM too!

Call the media, email your elected representatives, talk to your neighbors and friends. This is the fight of our lives. The republicans are sure that blocking health care will destroy Obama and the media will do their best to make sure it happens.
