SAM SEDER SHOW cancelled on AAR!
Sam just announced his weekday show has been cancelled and he is moving to a Sunday show only.

No announcement yet on what is replacing him. Why do I think something wishy-washy will be the new morning show?

1. I missed some of his show, why is Sam saying he's going to be
a millionnaire?

21. I think that he was making a joke.
Something about a hoax e-mail along the lines of, we have found millions owed to you and all you need to do is to send us your Social Security number, bank routing number, etc.

2. Sunday only? How can you make a living doing that?
Did they purposely demote him?

4. Sam is too good for only one show, he needs five days a week.

11. It certainly would seem so
Who in their right mind would want to go from a 3 hour weekday show to a once a week on Sundays? Sunday has to be a ratings nightmare- no matter what listeners may say now, Sunday is a day that most people have a lot of other activities to do than listening to the radio.

3. Were his ratings that bad? I've always thought he was one of the best.
Reading of this today just extends what has been a horrid weekend.

5. Morons. AAR Is Run By Morons.
Maron, then Malloy, now Seder. And you know Randi will leap the second she gets the chance - it's apparently the same guy doing this.

They should've just gone bankrupt if these are the decisions they're going to keep making. It's a dysfunctional company, and it doesn't seem to matter who owns them.

Go support Nova M and Jones - and write Sirius to see if they'll pick up Seder or Maron on their own. There's zero reason to trust AAR at this point.

15. Sirius spent so much on Stern, I doubt they have the resources
That is one reason that they are trying to merge with XM. Also, Sirius liberal/left channels have never had that much substance except for Thom Hartman.

Frankly, I like Jon Elliot much better than Malloy, and wish he had a 3 hour show, but moving Seder to a Sunday show is quite sad. The eco talk, Racal Maddow, and Politically Direct are O.K, but would be a perfect slot for Sam other than the one he currently has.

I cannot understand why they are moving one of the most entertaining, informative, and best representatives of the progressive cause to a slot that will attract less viewers

I would like to know who they are planning to put into his slot, because I tell you this, XM is losing more value for me.

32. Sirius Has Nothing to Do With
hiring & firing of AAR employees. The owners are the Green family - don't know much about them, but they saved AAR from disappearing altogether.

35. I was responding to the orignal post that Sirius left should pick up Sam Seder
by saying that they spent all their money on Howard Stern

The Green family, is the same Green who ran for govener of New York, and yes they saved AAR from disappearing altogether, however, Seder was one of the better personalities, i.e. not like a malloy who would insult anyone who didn't agree with him, but actually try to engage in a conversation of ideas

Announcing my new Sunday Show
It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that this week will be the last week of the Sam Seder Show on Air America. As you know, Air America recently came out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy and the new management wants to go in a different direction with the 9-Noon (est) time slot. However, as much as I would like to spend more time with Alberto Gonzales’ family, he will be doing so shortly, freeing me up to do a Sunday afternoon show on Air America Radio. The show is tentatively known as Seder on Sundays and I am excited to get it started.

7. Cosmic level stupidity.
Like George Bush, this magnatude of FUBAR, repeated without correction, is not accidental.

For one reason or another, AAR seems hell bent to fail.
Thom Hartmann is next, I suspect.

Why? I have no idea...

9. I think that Hartmann is syndicated and is not AAR
I bet that Randi will go that route as well, if she has not already done so. AAR is going to cut their overhead by only paying syndication fees to play people that are already paid somewhere else. Basically, instead of being a network, they want to be a middleman between already existing radio shows and the few stations that they brodcast on.

His show is great. AAR is really going down the tubes. I guess it's back to listening to local radio programs.

the concept was dumb and the people who ran it were even dumber. they succeeded in making a joke out of the concept of a liberal talk radio network.

16. Noooooo!
I love listening to Sam. I listen on XM and always listen to Sam. Then XM put phony Ed Schultz on instead of Hartmann. If I can't listen to Sam and Hartmann, then I might need to cancel my XM. Bad way to start the week.

What a bunch of dumb asses. The ONLY reason I invested in XM equipment was to listen to Malloy, Randi and Sam Seder. Buh Bye AAR.

27. I'm pretty sure Stephanie Miller will be replacing him in the NYC market.
I know this because they took him off the air one morning a couple of months ago, without warning, Steffi was on and she announced the addition of her new affiliate in NYC, WWRL. Next day, Sam was back on, with no explanation of what happened. I think that's when he found out but is just being allowed to annouce it now. It sucks, I love Stephanie Miller but she should be on replacing ARMSTRONG WILLIAMS, who, for some reason, is the 6 to 9 live broadcast out of NYC. I think he came with the deal to broadcast AAR off of that station but if anybody should go, its him. I think Sam was vocal about his displeasure following 'Armie', and that was why they yanked his broadcast that morning without telling him. Just mho, nothing definite on that theory.

So she wouldn't be able to take Armie's place in NYC.

33. I bet the new geniuses at AAR will bring back Springer
Sam Seder is one of my very favorite hosts. This decision is as brilliant as getting rid of Marc Maron. It's as if whoever's running the show at AAR doesn't have a clue as to what their audience wants. They continue to make imbecilic decisions.

And they are replacing him with Lionel.

What makes me think Bob/ Schrum and/or Mary Beth Cahill are somehow involved in this decision.
