Have there been any Presidential approval poll done recently?
I don't recall seeing or hearing of any new ones in a few weeks, and I listen to Air America about 10 hours a day 4 days a week.

I'm especially surprised that the AttorneyGate firings haven't prompted a new round of polls.

Did I just miss it?

3. Rasmussen's approach is lame...
No one will 'somewhat' vote for a president.

8. Job approval is different from election results
When you approve of President, you don't have to approve of everything he does, which is why Rasmussen offers are "somewhat" option. This shows that there are still a few soft Republicans out there who vote "disapprove" in other polls, but may vote "somewhat approve" in Rasmussen. They may hate the war, but they might love the tax cuts.

12. Sure
but when it comes time to re-elect one, or more importantly throw one out, the decision is binary.

13. Of course

However, people can also have low approvals but get higher percentages in their re-election bids. I think that Carter and Bush Sr. had their job approval numbers drop into the low 20's while still getting higher vote percentages. Gray Davis also had a job approval in the 20's and still got a much higher percentage than that for the recall.

4. Wow, that's kinda sad...

Rasmussen sez he's at 37%... I'm kinda shocked about that one.
Pollster sez 34%... I'm kinda shocked at that one as well.
I was thinking about 27% after the Sampson and Attorneygate problems...

9. Most Americans don't give a shit about the attorneys story
In order for them to disapprove of Bush, it needs to be something big and overt, like Iraq, Katrina or trying to destroy Social Security. The NSA wiretapping story was big last year too, but it did not change Bush's poll numbers.

14. There seems to be a glass floor for the Twerp around 30%.
I hope it's temporary. Shooter's ratings show there is still room to fall.

11. Hmmmm... that's a very good question
Doubtless it's something like bragging about how many terrorists (or just Muslims in general) Bush has killed, or how much Bush has helped Jesus' return to Earth.
