Chinese airline may offer cheaper fares to passengers who stand
The proposal would allow the airline to cram 40% more travelers into its planes while cutting operating costs 20%. Passengers would be strapped to a bar-stool-like stand during takeoff and landing.

Hope they lengthen the runways, though.

5. They will have a strap that you can grab ahold of like subway trains!

That's the ticket!

I wonder if they will make an even cheaper ticket available .... one where they just strap you onto a wing?

9. Has anyone ever riden a Tokyo subway?
They employ "pushers" to shove passengers into crowded trains.

10. One time when I returned from China, I stood for much of the long flight
Edited on Mon Jul-06-09 01:06 AM by aint_no_life_nowhere
It was on a Chinese airliner and the seats were so cramped and close that many passengers had to get up and stand in the aisles for hours just to maintain the circulation in their legs. I'd hate to think of what it would be like to have even more people crowded into the small spaces of their flights. At the rear of the plane, though, I got a big kick out of the fact that a couple of the stewardesses and several passengers were gambling in a card game on the floor.
