11. Sound effects for the news is silly

When they first started doing it I thought my TV was having problems and making funny noises when they put up graphics. Then I realized it was being done on purpose.

I was wondering about that.

I have a giant TV and sometimes I can't read what's on it (crawls, graphs, sports stats and sports scores, etc.) and I sit there thinking "Man! If I had a regular sized TV, I don't think I could even read the credits at the end of a movie!"

Same thing happened when Jon Stewart changed his set.

I do like that the lower 3rd is less busy now. Just wondering how the new graphics will translate to HD.

The press release from Dish says it's supposed to launch "In June", presumably June 29, yet I'm not seeing it in the channel guide.

15. The top bar sucks

There is no reason for it. There's no reason for the CNN-style info bar/crawl at the bottom, either. It's a waste of time and effort unless there is some huge news happening with a lot of info that needs to be repeated often.
