Can someone help me out here with CSpan video question?
I'm hoping to watch a 3 hour conference that occurred earlier today

McClendon Group Forum on Dept. of Justice Misconduct
Today

The Sarah McClendon Group holds a forum on alleged-selective prosecutions by the Justice Department during the Bush administration. Speakers include Judiciary Cmte. Counsel Elliot Mincberg, who substituted for Chairman Conyers and fmr. Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Oliver Diaz, who was twice acquitted on tax and corruption charges.
Washington, DC : 3 hr. 15 min.

I cannot figure out how to view the video. I assume it is available since this descriptor is still on the webpage.

Can someone help me here?

1. They often put up the description before the video itself.
Keep checking back, merh, it'll be there eventually.

3. So it could be there later on today and it is not there now, is that
correct?

I'm just trying to make sure I understand how this works. :freak:

6. Cool, they just haven't "put it up" yet.
I thought I had lost my mind, I just couldn't get a video to play for nothing.

It will be the video on this conference.

5. I did as you suggested and clicked on the flash icon and all that
popped up was a small window with this link http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library/includes/templates/library/flash_popup.php?pID=287304-1&clipStart=&clipStop=

and the words "search transcript" on the top right of the small window and the word "close" at the top left.

8. When I click on that link, it takes me to the video, too.
Okay, now I'm confused.

You're not prompted to download a player or anything?

no sweat with youtube - it's just this site. I use firefox.

15. I have a technical question and a comment
First, thank you merh for posting this question because it led me to the video.

I had to stop listening for a moment, just so I could come back to DU and say thank you.

This discussion is very important, and is something that gnaws at me each day. I urge everyone to listen. It is not boring.

Now my technical question: Does anyone know how to record this? I would like this for my DOJ files, but don't know how to do this, or even if it can be done.

Any ideas?

Again, merh, thank you!

:)

16. The "help" feature at Cspan states that the video is not available
for download because they own the rights to it.

I don't know how you could obtain it without buying it from Cspan.

I'm glad you are able to view it, it took me a minute to get it to come up but now I am listening to it.

and of course, you are welcome, I thank you for your interest. :hi:
