Massive train wreck training--3 days before DC train wreck...

This is quite remarkable. Two days before the tragic DC train wreck, there was a massive, graphic
train wreck simulation and drill held. The simulation was staged in two mangled train cars and involved
"actors" who wore stage make-up that realistically detailed critical injuries from a train wreck.

I watched the video of his simulation, and the fake injuries were very realistic. Not for the squeemish!

Held in Iowa, the training involved the Iowa National Guard, in-state, out-of-state and national responders.

This simulation train wreck was held 6/19, and the DC crash was 6/22. I wonder if any of this training was
put to good use in the DC crash?

1. These training scenarios are common and sometimes they seem

too coincidental

For example, when I was a medic, we had an Aircraft crash exercise for my shift, and we had an honest to goodness emergency landing the next shift we were in service.

Good news, we were very fresh in the training

Bad news, that does not mean a few people still made mistakes.
