People support a government-run health-care system to compete with the private system.

Across a number of questions, the poll detected substantial support for a greater government role in health care, a position generally identified with the Democratic Party. When asked which party was more likely to improve health care, only 18 percent of respondents said the Republicans, compared with 57 percent who picked the Democrats. Even one of four Republicans said the Democrats would do better.

The national telephone survey, which was conducted from June 12 to 16, found that 72 percent of those questioned supported a government-administered insurance plan — something like Medicare for those under 65 — that would compete for customers with private insurers. Twenty percent said they were opposed.

has been organizing up there. You guys have the opportunity to do more than anybody else. You can organize faster because there are fewer of you and make a louder impact. June 25 is National Sickout Day. I hope you guys can figure out some way to make Max take notice.

And yes we are working on Wyden here too, can't figure out what he's trying to prove.

7. That 20% has to be the rich or insurance company execs.
They're the only ones stupid/greedy/selfish enough to oppose a public plan.

8. Who thinks this poll will be mentioned on tomorrow's news shows?
They will probably mention the Gallup Poll but will they mention the NY Times poll??
