A humble suggestion to the Democratic Party.
Feeling a little shell shocked, Senator? Not quite sure where you should be standing these days? How about getting the DNC to do a real survey on what the voters want...and what the voters will be doing if they don't get it, in 2010. You know the buffoons across the aisle aren't going to do a damn thing to make your life easier. In fact, they'll do whatever they can to stop you from getting our agenda or anything passed, because they are banking on demoralized Democrats to not be motivated to vote in 2010. Do you really want to waste the gains in 2006/2008 by not moving on legislation we demand? Do you want us to tell you what the priorities are? What are our priorities? Are there so many that it's impossible to see a clear path to generational dominance?

Why not ask us to help you understand?

Here's a list, in no particular order-

War in Iraq
War in Afghanistan
Jobs
Energy Budget allocations
Public Transportation
Gay Marriage
Healthcare
Torture
Abortion Rights
Election Reform
Education
Defense Budget
Financial Bailouts

We were smart enough to rid ourselves of Republican control of Congress and the White House....how about asking our help in setting the agenda and the budget priorities? I'll bet there are a lot of Republicans/Independents who might also want participate....they might even want to be associated with a Party smart enough to ask the right questions.

The results might surprise you...and what you learn just might save your seat come next election.

1. Elected reps don't serve the people, they serve corporate pay masters
Once enough of you come to that stark realization, and at long last abandon that silly-assed "vote the bums out" fairytale nonsense, then you're on the correct path. Voting doesn't and won't accomplish dick, which is why it's a system geared toward keeping people believing otherwise ... it isn't Representative Democracy, it's a fucking defense mechanism for The Few Big.

7. Every nation that has Universal SIngle Payer Health Care
And doesn't engage in unnecessary wars, and doesn't have an economy that is busy tying up Main Street's money for Wall Street's interests, that nation has more than two political parties.

11. No.
If I was really trolling, I'd start a breast-feeding or a circumcision thread.

Is it okay if I display my man-boobs and turnip-shaped wiener in public?

9. hmmph
If its sarchasm or snark it is unwarrented. We actually ARE supposed to make demands of our leaders when we elect them to office.

8. I don't think they want to know
what we want. For example, Baucus doesn't want to hear it. And who could blame them, they get hundreds of thousands of dollars for doing the wrong thing.
