Dear MSNBC - I love my dad. Can I be on TV too?
A great diary at DailyKos.

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/6/5/739191/-Dear-MSNBC:-I-love-my-dad!-Can-I-be-on-TV,-too

Granted, my dad was never so incompetent as to allow the worst ever terrorist attack on U.S. soil. He never lied a nation into starting an illegal, immoral, and unnecessary war. He never authorized torture. Simply put: he isn't a war criminal. And he never shot anyone in the face. But he's a great guy, and has done a lot of public good. Which should count for something, shouldn't it?

I'm also a great guest. Ask anyone who has ever had me to a party or for dinner. I'm mostly polite, witty, and a charming conversationalist. I clean up after myself. I usually don't steal anything. And I know a little about politics. Granted, my dad never got me political jobs for which I had no apparent qualifications, but I'm still capable of stringing together coherent sentences, when discussing matters political. And although much of what I say is my opinion, when I do speak about verifiable facts, they do prove verifiable. I'm not a good liar. I hope that doesn't disqualify me!

So, I was wondering if you could invite me to be a regular guest on your news programs. I can talk knowingly about some subjects; but because that doesn't seem relevant, to you, I also want you to know that I can talk about subjects about which I know little, and about which I am far from being an expert. But I love my dad. And even though I know little about the minute details of his professional career, I can talk as if I do. I can defend him. I can assure your viewers that whatever my dad did must have been right. Because he's my dad. And I love him.

I look forward to hearing from you. When you prepare the Green Room for me, please include a bowl of M&M's, and please remove all the red ones. Thanks.

Fondly yours,

Turkana

1. Oh-Oh me too! My dad is dead now but I want to go on TV
and talk about my dad. He actually fought in wars, spent 20 some odd years in the service and he NEVER tortured anyone or asked anyone to torture others for him!1!

:hi:

2. LOL! yeah, and the biggest thing about liz cheney is...
she lies... boldface lies! (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!) and NO ONE CALLS HER ON IT. like showing the tape of cheney saying there definitely was a link and then a connection.... but they don't do that. they, by sheer lack of a reply, give her some level of credence. They know that people have short memories. i simply cannot watch that woman or her father on tv. the only thing i can hope to come of the tag team approach at blame everyone else is that the everyone else being blamed will leak something that no one can ignore to ensure that somebody goes to jail.

15. Cheney's little joke about Richard Clarke the other day put him way over the line
Edited on Fri Jun-05-09 04:05 PM by XOKCowboy
Cheney counts on people having short memories and it seems most do. That includes the TradMed. Nobody but Rachel, TDS and Colbert have the guts to dig up the videotapes and emails from 2001 that show that Liz/Dick are lying through their teeth.

Let's see Liz go on Rachel Maddow's show and spout that shit.

3. Me 2 -- my dad was a great guy
Edited on Fri Jun-05-09 02:30 PM by DebbieCDC
Couldn't qualify for WWII service, but worked in the mills that built the tanks and guns. Never harmed a soul in his life. I want to talk about him on MSNBC. He's a better "American" story than the crypt keeper any day.

Hey I just realized this is my 1,000 post and it was about my dad. Awesome :-)

11. Awesome Debbie! I'm proud it was on my thread!
Yep my Dad was a SeaBee on Okinawa in WW2. He passed away 5 years ago. He despised what Bush/Cheney did after 9/11 and would be livid today hearing the BS coming from the Cheney's now.

5. If there is anything sadder than Cheney trying to justify his horrible behavior, it's
gotta be his daughter begging for forgiveness. I am glad they are both continuing to get good coverage. The longer they are out there pleading for forgiveness the sadder it becomes.

8. Ding Ding Ding.. We might have a winner!!
"Sorry kid, your old man's not a Billionaire." (let me add) "who was the Warmonger In Chief that enabled our parent company to earn Billions of dollars in defense contracts".

Does that work??
