Does Cheney Have A Death Wish?.......
Today he's blamed Richard Clarke for 9/11 and he's blamed George Tenet for Saddam not having WMD. Come on - these are people that worked within BushCo that can turn on him. Why is he doing this? Why is he leading with his chin?

I can't wait for the interviews of Clarke and Tenet to discuss this. I hope Rachel or Keith book these guys.

1. He can't die. His agreement with Satan spelled that out in blood.

3. It's driving me crazy trying to figure him out.
He has to know that everybody knows he was calling ALL the shots. Does he think he can change that?

6. I know.. Only thing that makes sense is what his daughter said...

He is terrified of war crimes prosecution.

Too the point of way over doing the CYA I would add.

L. CHENEY: I don’t think he planned to be doing this, you know, when they left office in January. But I think, as it became clear that President Obama was not only going to be stopping some of these policies, that he was going to be doing things like releasing the — the techniques themselves, so that the terrorists could now train to them, that he was suggesting that perhaps we would even be prosecuting former members of the Bush administration.

18. Could It Be That This Is Just The Sign Of A Person With A Guilty Conscious......
I'm thinking he's running real scared. He knows he & BushCo are prosecutable and should wind up in prison and is just terrified of the prospect.

11. Well, he also said that there was no connection between Sadam and 9/11,
and that he supports gay marriage.

If I didn't know better, I'd suspect he's laying the groundwork for an insanity defense.

14. What do you mean "Clarke might turn on him"? Clarke already labeled him a liar and an
incompetent, if not criminal, ignorer of the numerous warnings leading up to 911. Everything Clarke has said about 9/11 has pointed to downright negligence on BushCo's part.

And Clarke's been saying this for at least five years.

15. It seems like such a case of "projection"--Clarke said that the
Bushies dropped the ball and weren't prepared for 9/11 in his Washington Post op-ed, so Cheney has to go--"No, you're to blame." Evidence can show that Gitmo & Abu Ghraib are like a gift to al-Qaeda recruiters, so Cheney has to say--"Oh no, it's people who are against those things who are making us less safe."

I had a dreadful thought lately about his health, and not in that "wishing ill on someone I don't like way"--he's been in "undisclosed locations" off and on throughout his term as VP. He's been known to repeat already de-bunked stuff in interviews as if no one ever pointed out where the stuff he was bringing was weak. And he's got his daughter making the rounds on these shows--

My thought--we know he's had bad cardiovascular health. Lately, he's seemed to have labored breathing, and I know people have discussed the possibility that he could be in heart failure here before (and I wouldn't wish that on anyone--I understand that the labored breathing is because one feels like one is drowning.) One of the side-effects of bad arterial health can be a form of dementia. If it's something like that, I wish for his and his family's sake they get the man to stop making these rounds before he really kills his reputation.

Or he could just be a jerk. Hard call.

16. Gary Trudeau had a great set of quotes on his page
SAY WHAT
"You know, Dick Clarke. Dick Clarke, who was the head of the counterrorism program in the run-up to 9/11. He obviously missed it."
-- Dick Cheney, on Richard Clarke

"Bin Ladin Public Profile May Presage Attack" (5/3/01)

"Bin Ladin's Networks' Plans Advancing" (5/26/01)

"Bin Ladin Attacks May Be Imminent" (6/23/01)

"Bin Ladin and Associates Making Near-Term Threats" (6/25/01)

"Bin Ladin Planning High-Profile Attacks" (6/30/01)

"Planning for Bin Ladin Attacks Continues, Despite Delays" (7/02/01)
-- Subject lines of Richard Clarke emails to Bush Administration prior to 9/11/01

Dick Cheney is pulling shit out of his ass and flinging it at the wall to see what sticks.
