1. I suspect the media hasn't reported properly, and we are already there...

Judging by the three-block-long line I saw going into the welfare office on 4th Street, Downtown LA this morning. There's always a line on the 1st of the month, but not one that wraps around the corner and keeps on going...

The number of empty houses in my neighborhood is indicative as well.

The fact we can't get decent mail delivery, at home or at the office, is pretty telling of cutbacks on that front.

The number of tents in "Tent City" have at least doubled over the past month, from what I can tell.

Maybe we need to start doing our own investigating and reporting.

40% of all houses are empty
