Governor proposes another $3 billion in cuts
Matthew Yi, Chronicle Sacramento Bureau

Friday, May 29, 2009

(05-29) 12:31 PDT Sacramento -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's finance officials detailed an additional $3 billion in budget cuts today that would eliminate state funding for school buses, allow only severely disabled Californians to receive in-home services and suspend state rules, such as requiring animal shelters to keep strays alive for a certain number of days.

The additional cuts, which also include further reductions to K-12 education, are designed to close a deficit that is expected to grow to $24.3 billion through June 2010

10. So, one wonders where his salary went.
And what happened to our stimulus package. Or bailout. Or whatever it was called.

Security Costs For Schwarzenegger Up Dramatically
Phil Matier, Reporting

SACRAMENTO (CBS 5) ―

Since taking office, the cost of protecting Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has skyrocketed. Protecting the Governor and California's top officials has nearly tripled from $14.5 million a year to nearly $38 million.

Officials told the San Francisco Chronicle that a caravan of protection stands ready for Governor Schwarzenegger's every move, whether it is across the country or around Sacramento. There is also the governor's fondness for foreign travel.

11. Some of us felt just fine about Gray Davis from the get-go.
Davis was railroaded by Enron and the RepubliCons, notably, Dale Issa.
