3. Condolences, and congratulations on a life well lived. Can you imagine
what he would have done for the sport if segregation had not prevented him from becoming pro at a younger age? Then again, what he did for the human race by living a life of such dignity could never be replaced.

So long, Eddie, from this sincere fan of both your football prowess and of the incredible human example you set to all of us southerners. You will truly be missed.
