Obama's speech at the National Archives.
Why is he bringing up 9/11 and Al Qaeda? I simply don't find those to be relevant or credible concerns.

1. Can you cite the passages that you are referring to for context?
But since this speech was all about National Security, so I'm not sure why that should lead him to avoid topics that Cheney turned around and mentioned over 30 times! It would seem weird for this President to shy away from these topics.

3. "Now let me be clear: We are indeed at war with al Qaeda and its affiliates."
Yet at the beginning of the speech he makes this claim:

"These are extraordinary times for our country. We are confronting an historic economic crisis. We are fighting two wars. We face a range of challenges that will define the way that Americans will live in the 21st century."

The war in Iraq is an insurgency of various Iraqi groups, the war in Afghanistan is presumably with the Taleban. So is there a third war going on that the American people haven't been informed about?

Like I said, I don't find Al Qaeda to be a credible national security concern.

5. I fail to see what he said that is inacurate.
You may not find Al Qaeda to be a credible National Security concern, but I believe that AlQaeda
took credit for the attack in New York. Guess that doesn't count anymore, although it is a fact that folks were running down the streets of New York just a few weeks ago, because they saw a low flying airplane. I'm trying to figure out why they were running, if indeed what AlQaeda admits of doing is not a "credible" national Security concern.

He is the friggin' President of the United States, not somebody up on DU saying just about anything, cause they know that most don't really give a shit what is said in terms of opinions.

6. You are all over the map.
Then you would agree that Bush/Cheney kept us safe for the rest of Bush's Presidency? Which is what Cheney claims. Which is it? Bush/Cheney kept us safe or Al Qaeda isn't a credible threat? Can't be both.

4. The fact that we are at war with a group isn't a main point?
Just a little side note? Then why even bring it up?
