Big Business lobbyists: Obama is mean to us

by Chris in Paris on 5/15/2009 04:15:00 PM
Sniffle, sniffle, sniffle. Sounds like some still can't accept their own responsibility for the economic failures that triggered the recession. The business lobbyists are crying "class warfare" so you know we're not far away from hearing about socialism. Oh those crocodile tears.

Some business leaders have focused on the harsh words lately, saying the president is being unduly divisive.

"It is traditional class-warfare rhetoric," said Jade West, a lobbyist for the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors. "It's a little bit frightening."

3. A Good Republican President for a Change
These last few weeks have been a deep dark time of despair for any reform minded democrat. We have watched how quickly Obama has turned his back on the people who supported him. We have received virtually nothing concrete for our efforts thus far except fancy talk for lies and excuses.

Each and every scandal has privatization of government at its root. We learned this week about the huge role private contractors had in committing torture. We learned how Wall Street stole our pensions and in return the government gave them 3 trillion dollars that (they say) will eventually trickle down to us. We learned about AT&T and the huge role they have had piping our conversations and e-mails into the government. And health care policy? Yep, huge insurance companies only. And credit card loan sharking - once again industry said no and our government went right along with it. Health care will be the next wall street disaster.

I don't know what to say except you can be sure that Obama is turning out to be the best president the republican party could have asked for. He used those of us who worked hard to put a reform minded politician into office. Now we get to worry about supreme court - I will bet that he puts an "extreme centrist" on the court - one who plays well with big corporations and republican pundits. So, ironically, when I thought I was funding candidates who believed in the role of government regulating the markets, I was really just investing more money in Wall Street. And my return on investment is seems to prove it.

We need a giant firehose of that can pump out a huge stream of sudsy water and disinfectant. Clean out congress, whitehouse, lobbyists, CIA, etc. The scum is so thick in these places...

5. I obviously dont agree
Anger has its place and this is a legitimate time for anger. I'm not full of shit, just a careful observer and some-time activist whose watched 50 years of outsourcing and corruption. If you don't think that what I wrote is true, the falsehoods should be apparent in ample legislation and executive branch priorities. But, you won't find that.I also was a delegate for Obama. I expected something more than - "at least Bush is out".

Geithner was the first broken promise on lobbyists and influence. He could not have chosen a more incestuously connected Wall Street insider. There is a literal avalanche of broken promises by Obama. Past performance is a predictor of future performance. The supreme court is at risk of picking up another extreme "centrist", code name for "moderate" republican.

In spite of your obvious personal attack on me, I know my political history and stand behind every word. While you might not like my style, there is little to dispute in facts when it comes to legislation and decisive action for real reform.

Case in point - another reversal.

Know that if it wasn't for the finacial and personal efforts of like-minded people like me, things would be much, much worse.

Wishing you well and I appreciate your comment.
