If Only THREE People were "Tortured", as Cheney Says, What's So Bad About the Pictures?
I mean, this IS the talking point, isn't it? Only 3 people were tortured. I've heard that over and over.

And there were only a "handful" of bad apples that "abused" prisoners, right? So are we being kept from thousands of pictures of the same three people? Or more pictures of Lindy England doing her thing?

Or are they implying that the Abu-style treatment of detainees and POWs wasn't torture? Or that there were more bad apples than we thought?

With all the hype centering on Nancy Pelosi these days, I'm getting confused. But then again, that's what they want.. right?

Several of whom died from said torture.

2. The "few bad apples" were running our country...
Let's put them in the place where they belong. The crowbar hotel!

4. Use the DU google search-enter "ghost prisoners" for starters...
this is just another lie-but it's a good thing to hear RICHARD BRUCE CHENEY admit to TORTURE

6. I just did a thread on this.. If the pics are so bad that they will put people in danger
then something illegal was going on and prosecutions need to get under way.

9. the problem is.... the only people who would be prosecuted are the low level
grunts... not that their participation isn't bad and probably deserving of prosecution... but this is not just people doing things on their own... this is pervasive top down stuff so it should be top down prosecutions.

7. See, they did it to you too. The pictures are of prisioner abuse, not detainee torture
The Military abused prisioners in known prision and there are many photographs. The CIA had contractors torture people in secrete prisons in unknown locations and then destroyed all photographic evidence of having done it.

See the difference? The 'few bad apples' were military people who abused prisioners in Iraq or Afghanastan, they are not the same people who tortured. Two different subjects.

The press is purposfully mixing and confusing these two things.

Big difference.

10. I guess that was kind of my sarcastic point - when I look at the pictures already released of
bleeding, hooded, chained, frozen, naked prisoners - *I* see "torture". For him to say that only waterboarding is "torture" kind of strains at credulity, IMO.

The whole thing is a stinking muddied mess and I think "we" (those who want to see prosecutions and inquiries) are losing the PR battle.

than this.

It'd sure be nice if we could do away with the circular firing squad. At least for a while.

Too much to ask, I know.

13. Yes, he's definitely trying to distract. Rape and murder... that's what Lindsey Graham called it.
We need to stop dancing to their "PELOSI PELOSI PELOSI" tune and start hammering on what they did.
