White House Claims Former Aide Turned On Bush Because Of ‘Personal Turmoil'
On face the nation today, Dan Bartlett, counselor to the president, responding to Dowd's turnabout saying that Kerry was right,

CBS host Bob Schieffer interrupted to ask: “Are you suggesting he’s having some kind of personal problems and this is just what has resulted?” Bush spokesman Bartlett denied that’s what he was doing, but then returned to his talking point, suggesting Dowd’s views should be evaluated in light of the fact the he was going through “personal turmoil."

5. Yes, thank you Dan Barlett! We're openning hearts and minds over there... literally!
I believe that 'turmoil' is also known as "guilty feelings."

3. Does anyone ever ask them how come they know so many people
Edited on Sun Apr-01-07 12:18 PM by loudsue
that are "mental"? You know...people with so much mental instability? That seems to be one of their favorite slings. They said it about McCain, they said it about John O'Neil, and I'm sure there are plenty more.

Do you think someone in the media is going to ever ASK them how come anyone that ever says anything derogatory about bush has "mental problems"?

Sounds like a little "projection", if you ask me.

sheesh!

4. But he is! It's the "personal turmoil" of facing one's complete dupery!
The psychological blow of knowing one has been had by criminal psychopaths; that one has supported murder and theft of unparallelled scale; and that one has had a hand in the death of American democracy.

I'm sure it is quite sobering.

7. Supposedly, Bartlett and Dowd are very good friends,
so I wonder how Dowd interpreted these remarks. I think it's obvious that Dowd is going thru some personal turmol, and every correct-thinking individual who originally supported this administration/war should be going thru the same personal turmoil until they arrive at the conclusion that they did a very evil thing.

8. Ah...so he must be crazy or unstable or he would have never
come out against Bush

LOLOLOL

Weak..weak...

a crisis of conscience is be definition "personal turmoil"....but let's put negative connotations on it and - suddenly - the person speaking out is unstable....

That's just weak and pathetic....people should laugh in Bartlett's face for such a lame - lame - spin

13. You would think they learned a lesson about smearing people.
Maybe Bartlett should call DOJ before he opens his mouth again.

to the powers that be in the White House to have a Dem they flipped, flip back to reality. They must be terrified of what he could talk about. And how many will follow him.
