another sign the RW fears an Edwards candidacy...
Edwards is conspicously absent from the photo montage of 2008 candidates on Sludge-boy's home page. The only Dems shown are Obama and Hillary, as though Edwards is not a top-tier candidate. He does include Romney, however, who is a RW fave though he has less support among Repubs than Edwards does among Dems. Don't they WISH he (Edwards) would go away.

The RW is foaming at the mouth for Hillary's nomination, that's for sure.

1. The only reason they are doing that is because the media has sold Obama and Hillary
as the top two Democrats.

In my view the republicans would most like to run against Hillary. She has too much baggage and they know it

Edwards will become more influential as people tune in more, but that will apply to Obama also. Hearing him on Wolf Blitzer this morning, from an interview earlier in the week, he is right on the issues.

They are also have ignored BIll Richardson, and even though he brings a lot to the table, the media is ignoring him

As debates and dialog continue, and the primaries get closer, the lead the Hillary currently has, I am convienced will start to deteriorate.

4. I noted that CNNran a news piece yesterday saying that a recent poll has
Giuliani beating both Obama and Hillary by a few points. I am getting more and more to the point where I can support John Edwards, and not for sympathy, altho I really care about Elizabeth. I think they both showed courage and authenticity as they talked about her cancer and the campaign. So I think he's going to do better and better, too. I am depressed, tho, that we as a country are not ready for a black or a woman for president...

6. The only Democratic candidate I have a problem with is Hillary
Sorry, but for me it is about the war. I know people say there are other issues, but the costs, and resources be wasted because of this war makes it paramount for me

11. But of all of them, she is the most skilled politician. That could
be why she is so controversial. She is a master at triangulation. It makes it difficult to pin her down on ideology. She stands for everything we like and she stands for everything we dislike. I don't like it, but it served her husband well, and it might work for her in 2008.

Like you, I don't like her stand on the war and would wish she would come out and say her vote on the war was a mistake. I'd rather have someone like Edwards in the Oval office.

Because my state has no primary, I have no dog in this fight. No matter who is the nominee, I will back with all my might.

12. Hillary still hasn't broken out of her stilted, "controlled" mannerisms.
She still has that fixed smile and head nodding thing that bothers me. I don't think she is bad; in fact, I think she would make a great president. But her mannerisms are so off-putting that lots of people just can't get past them.

Try to get a copy of the latest "New Republic" with an interesting article on Hillary and why she won't apologize for her war vote. The theory offered is that she saw what naysayers were doing to her husband's foreign policies and was frustrated so she didn't want to see any deterioration of that ablity of the president. I think that is a crock, personally, because enough of her well respected Democratic peers were taking issue for good reasons with Bush's Iraq policy, but that is what is being floated, just so you know!

2. I think our Democrats will continue to run strong and get stronger for
the next 8 or 9 months. Then, the first votes are cast in the Iowa caucuses, and by the end of all those top-loaded primaries over the next few weeks, we'll likely know the 2008 nominee.

I'd like to see Edwards included in the top tier when reporters report, but Drudge is not a reporter I take seriously anyway.

The GOP has much to feel apprehensive about.
