Mandatory service? Uniforms? Are we still a free country, or do our politicans tell us that to make us feel better?

could you provide a little more information before I go read a long document? Before I start fretting and pulling out my hair and calling my Senators, I'd like to know a little more. Right now, I'm a little short on time to read a 300+ page document.

Surely you can spare enough time to at least tell us what this document is and provide a brief executive summary.

There's nothing in it that requires mandatory service at all. The only mention of involutary service is in the establishment of a committee that might look into that, along with other things.

Significantly, in today's Congress, this passed with broad bipartisan support. Only 101 House members voted against it.

A similar measure is now in the Senate, where it will probably pass, as well.

Someone's being an alarmist...yes heshe is. The sky is, indeed, falling, apparently.
