If you would simply watch AIG's CEO's testimony, your questions would be answered.

All seven hours of it, minus a one hour break.

We used to laugh at Freepers who fell for the kind of crap some of us are falling for right now due to the bullshit of Repuke rhetoric and misinformation.

I hate repeating myself, but although a lot of people are eager to spout off, almost nobody says that they watched the hearings yesterday, understood the implications of them, or give a crap that this bogus "AIG Bonus-gate" is horseshit.

Rather than make a long post again that nobody will read, I will simply IMPLORE anyone attacking Obama or his administration to read the transcripts of yesterday's hearings.

You will learn that the AIG bonuses were not a secret.

You will learn that they were vetted by the SEC and included in the 4Q 2008 documents filed by AIG and available to all of us--anyone intelligent enough to read the reports and able to do so via the internet or by ordering them in hard copy.

You will learn that most of our congresspeople were informed in December about the bonus issue, that it was a source of incredible anxiety for everyone involved.

Then you will learn that Tim Geithner learned of the bonus issue two weeks ago, was shocked, ordered a meeting with Liddy ASAP, which happened seven days ago.

Sorry for the vent, but I'm appealing to my friends here at DU to think for themselves.

This attack against Obama for the AIG thing is a hoax, and it's embarrassing to see so many smart people fall for this.

1. I watched the entire hearings yesterday as well. Although I am concerned that Liddy...
was brought in under the Bush Administration, I think from what I could gather that he is doing a good job of things (with a bad situation).

2. I watched it
and I thought a lot of the House members used it to yell at clouds -- and, sadly, at Code Pink too.

3. I have a very hard time weeding through some of
the duplicate, some total crap, threads to find coherent information. I can't seem to hide threads fast enough.

4. I watched it yesterday...
sure did change my perspective on things. What really bothers me, is that I now know all this stuff about when the bonuses were contracted, why the people got the bonuses, and what happened after, with the stimulus bill, but am utterly confused about how this bail-out business is supposed to work. This is only AIG. What's going on with the rest of them?
