Human cannibals that we ignore at our own risk
Edited on Thu Mar-19-09 12:31 PM by Cyrano
What do most of us want? We want to live decent lives and earn enough or more to provide for our loved ones. We want a world where our jobs are secure. We want medical coverage that won't put us in the poor house. We want a government that looks out for our interests and that we can trust. We want to live productive, meaningful lives. We want peace of mind. We want to see a better world.

It's no news that all human beings are not alike. Some have more advantages in life than others. Some steal, or become drug addicts, or kill. There are also those who go into politics to do good and end up doing very well for themselves.

But there is one type of human being that too many of us fail to recognize. They are people who want it all. They want to own everything there is to own. They want everything you have or ever will have. They literally believe themselves to be the title we have placed on them and which they have been happy to accept: -- "Masters of the Universe." They are cannibals.

Let me try to make this as simple as possible: Such people are a danger to each and every human being on the face of the planet. We've seen their likes in history from the Alexander the Great, to The Roman Empire, to the Huns, to Napoleon, right up to the Nazis, Stalin's USSR, Pol Pot's Cambodian Killing Fields, and today's African dictators committing genocide on a vast scale.

And now we, the USA, can joint this "Hall of Infamy." Torture, a meaningless war and murder has been committed in our name. How many of us took to the streets with torches and pitchforks to protest it? Far too few.

And, having ignored eight years of murder and mayhem, you, your family, your friends, and almost everyone you know has virtually no control over our economy, our jobs, our well being, or the quality of our lives.

There's no mystery who put us where we are today. They are people who can rightfully be called cannibals. We've seen far too many of these sort of people lately. They have names like Bush, Cheney, their political allies, and the corporate flesh eaters with whom they are in league.

The human species has been pillaged, plundered, raped, robbed and enslaved by people like these for thousands of years.

When are we going to wise up? When are we going to say "Enough?" When will we who are not cannibals put a stop to this once and for all? Our technology has given us the illusion of progress. But when will we humans finally step forward out of the mind-numbing darkness of our own making?
