New Water-Is-Wet Poll: Obama Would Crush Palin In 2012....
The only newsworthy aspect to this is that journalists and pollsters think the matter is sufficiently unclear to be worth polling.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/03/18/obama-would-crush-sarah-p_n_176392.html#postComment
"Polling suggests that such a contest would result in the largest popular vote blowout since George McGovern ran against Richard Nixon in 1972.

Obama leads Palin 55-35 in the hypothetical contest. He has an 89-7 advantage among Democrats. Among Republican he trails 66-17. Last year exit polls showed Obama
winning only 9% of the Republican vote, so it appears Palin would lose a lot more voters
within her party than McCain did."

1. Most Americans HATE HATE HATE Palin
She came across as "the other woman," winking at the camera like some teenager in vegas for the first time.

The only ones who like her are the total insane nutters

The only way she could win is by force

3. Why does here gender come into play?
Nobody looks at McCain or Obama as "that other man".

Nor do they make ridiculous allusions to American Bandstand when talking about the candidacey.

Palin is just a really bad candidate. Nothing more and nothing less. For years the right have been trying to prop her up as something that appeals to them and the electorate. It just doesn't fly with people.

5. Do not shoot the messenger
I am only repeating back what I heard time and time again from many soccer moms who, for the first time in their lives, voted for a Democrat.

As for me, I just think she's religiously insane, and stupid as a bag of rocks.

6. Because she was winking at us. Because her own side talked up her sexiness....
By contrast is the reality that the poster mentioned, and that you are now whining about.

10. Maybe it's because neither McCain or Obama flirted with us during debates
Man, that was a weird scene.

They don't "hug babies" either?

Come off it already.

Or admit you're just making shit up.

22. Oh reallly? You mean to say that he's not flirting when he winks and Palin is?
See, this is the thing you don't get. Republicans know that there are just as many mysoginists in this party as there is in theirs. The objective in running Palin and playing the gender card with it was not to raise women above their condition. It was to talk down to it. Palin as a self described "feminist" does not speak of the condition of women anymore than Clarence Thomas speaks of the condition of African Americans.

Their role is to talk DOWN to their condition. Notice that not one comment by Palin ever addressed folks like you speaking of sex, when it has a female characteristic, as something evil. It's all about playing the card.

24. I know you're a troll
and very bad at it at that.

See, the point of trolling is to get a rise out of people while making them look bad. That usually does the trick.

You're not capable of that. Instead of making others look like an ass, you make yourself look like an ass. I also know that your targets do a better job of getting a rise out of you than you do of them.

Which is kinda funny considering the object is to get your oponent all riled up.

Here's a hint, the key to effective trollins is subtlety. That's an art you have yet to master.

See, now that I've pointed out how banal this subject is perhaps we can talk about something else besides National Enquirer bullshit.

28. Like I said before, she was over the top.
Did you watch the debate? Her winking at the camera was obviously part of a schtick. It wasn't just an isolated incident. It was a purposeful attempt at branding her as the cutesy girl next door type that we could all know and love. This wouldn't have been a tactic if they would have picked, say, Meg Whitman. Sarah Palin is practically a supermodel when it comes to politics so I don't think this is about her just being a bad candidate. There are many reasons to oppose her, but the reason she was picked out of a hat is just another issue I have.

2. Even more hilarious is that she's currently their best hope.
2012 is a long way off, but I just don't see a GOP iron horse coming in to give Obama a serious challenge, first term doldrums notwithstanding. So they're stuck with the tabloid wonder and her screwy family.

9. The only way Palin would get the Repug nomination is if
the religious whack-jobs maintain their stranglehold on the party. It'll be interesting to watch how the Repugs handle the situation and whether they can get off their no taxes, smaller government, fundie meme.
