Bayh refuses to name anonymous members of his new Blue-Dog style coalition.
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/03/18/bayh-witness-protection/

This morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) officially announced the creation of his new Blue-Dog style coalition of approximately 15 “moderate” Democratic senators. As Roll Call explained last week, members of the group “acknowledge that they are seeking to restrain the influence of party liberals.” During his announcement, host Joe Scarborough asked Bayh who is in the new coalition. Bayh said that while a press release on the group’s creation included the names of 12 senators, there are “three or four” who don’t want to be identified:

SCARBOROUGH: This is great! Can you tell us who’s in it?

BAYH: Well there are about 12 of us on the press release and then there are three or four who we are putting in the witness protection program, who attend our meetings but don’t want to be publicly identified yet.

As for Hillary, if you think she's any of those things, you haven't been paying attention

Oh and I think we've proved that DLC =/= Fascist

Howard Dean, Al Gore and John Edwards were all in the DLC

Edited on Wed Mar-18-09 01:15 PM by ClarkUSA
I stand by my statement: Both of them are DLC darlings. He was a DLC Chairman and Hillary's a member AND Bill was a DLC
Chairman. Bayh was Hillary's top campaign surrogate during 2008. The DLC is one big happy family minus Barack, who's
denied being DLC after Al From tried to BS him into membership via a news report in 2007.

22. So was Howard Dean. Are you going to call him an asswipe too?
DLC means NOTHING. It was a tool the blue dogs used in the 90's to distance themselves from the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. It failed. See 1994-2004

It amazes me at how many people hate Hillary Clinton. Is it because she's a strong woman? Does she intimidate you?

Or are you still holding on to her stupid, fucked up IWR vote? Kerry voted for that too btw...

25. DLC died a long time ago. It failed. End of story
I think the real enemies are not the Clintons (so put down that copy of American Spectator,) not the ex-DLCers, but the Liebermans and Bayhs of the Congress.

26. Really? Fact: Bill Clinton, Joe Lieberman and Evan Bayh are all former DLC Chairmen.
Edited on Wed Mar-18-09 01:30 PM by ClarkUSA
Bill Clinton ended up being president for two terms while Joementum and Bayh are still alive and kicking, as is the DLC,
which has morphed into euphemistic organizations of many fanciful names.

No one said "the real enemies are... the Clintons" so stop refighting the primaries. I am stating facts... wish I could say
the same of you.

27. Yes and what happened in between 1994-2004?
Joe Lieberman lost the pres election, then lost the nomination in 2004

Bill Clinton was the only real "victory" of the DLC, and even then, DLC was more of a look than a set of policies.

He is very popular in Indiana and can raise the big bucks.

He's playing to the republicans who make up a large part of his base.

I'd gladly support a real dem against him in the primary but he'll win it anyway.

37. More machinations of the two party/same corporate master system of government
It is becoming increasingly obvious for those who choose to see that corporate America has taken over both parties, and is using them to keep us all under control. The differences between the two are primarily cosmetic, with little difference on the substantive issues.
