JP Morgan Chase CEO - "Vilification" Of Corporations Must Stop - "It's Hurting Our Country"
March 11 (Bloomberg) -- Jamie Dimon, chief executive officer of JPMorgan Chase & Co., said the U.S. can rescue its banking system by year-end if U.S. officials start cooperating and refrain from the “vilification” of corporate America.

“If we act like a dysfunctional family and we don’t finish these things and we’re forever debating them, I think this will go on for several years,” Dimon, 52, said at a conference hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington. “It’s completely up to us at this point.”

Congress called eight bank CEOs to Washington last month to face criticism for outsized pay packages and executive perks at a time when losses were rising and the U.S. was pumping billions of dollars into their companies. U.S. Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd led an effort to put new restrictions on banks that receive government support.

“When I hear the constant vilification of corporate America, I personally don’t understand it,” Dimon said in his speech. “I would ask a lot of our folks in government to stop doing it because I think it’s hurting our country.”

4. And I wonder how many innocent people JPMorgan Chase drove under with usurious rates?
Just the fucking name alone should be enough to start a congressional inquiry on whether their size is such that they need a dose of the Sherman/Clayton Anti-Trust Act for anti-competitive/monopolistic behavior.

8. That's what I was thinking as I read the original post.
Fuck you, buddy.

Things are as bad as they are because corporate American squanders its money by paying out excessive bonuses instead of reinvesting it into the company. You outsource jobs, cutting American jobs, then use the money saved to pay bonuses to people who already receive an incredible salary.

Enough is enough!

republicans believe that legislative morality only applies to the individual, and that the moralty of capitalism should never be discussed or legislated.

11. We're a family?
"If we act like a dysfunctional family..."

Stop.

Family members don't hold other family members hostage and declare that they're "too big to fail" (Sounds like "If I'm going down then I'm takin' you all with me!!!!").

Just stop.

You're wrong dipstick... your company (and all the other greedy behemoths who got us into this mess) did MUCH to nearly destroy AMERICA. What you call VILIFICATION is merely calling a spade a spade... and it's hurting your company... but NOT bad enough, IMO.

You're going down a-hole... we're gonna socialize EVERYTHING--starting with YOUR MONEY being distributed amongst the masses!

(well, it's the thought that counts)

24. Corporations
Nobody is "vilifying" corporations. Reporting their business practices is not vilification. It is information without the pretty little picture that they want us to see so that we can keep throwing our money at them. What a ridiculous statement. Corporations are amoral entities that exist only to make a profit for their shareholders. They don't care how they do it, although they do care how they look doing it. Now that they don't look so great, they are crying "poor me".

Their incessant greed and want of power and money have hurt this country far more than the responses of people waking up to what they are doing.

who vilified Al Franken and unions over Card Check during the last election season and then cries about having any scrutiny? Hey, how about YOU bastards quit hurting the country and then we'll quit vilifying you.
