Back in Holy Morman land - more hypocrisy and family values
div class="excerpt"]http://www.sltrib.com/ci_11853476?source=most_viewed

Two Bountiful Junior High School teachers are accused of sexually assaulting the same 13-year-old student, after their separate relationships with him spiraled from personal conversations to the exchange of sexual text messages and phone sex, authorities said.

<snip>>

Recent cases

Since 2007, at least 10 other Utah teachers or school employees have been charged with engaging in sexual acts with students. Among recent cases:

In November 2007, Frank Laine Hall, 37, was sentenced to prison for molesting 11 of his first-grade students at Rosamond Elementary School in Riverton.

Also in 2007, former West High School guidance counselor Marco R. Herrera, 53, received three consecutive one-to-15 year prison terms for engaging in sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl at least 10 times. An honors teacher at the same school was charged in 2008 with multiple counts of having sex with the same girl; his case is pending.

And these are the same folks spending millions across the country to "protect family values" from us scary homosexualists.

Maybe they need to clean up their own swamp first

1. The state of Utah
has said that they do not have the money to break up the polygamist groups in their state that practice religious pedophilia by forcing under age girls into marriages with men old enough to be their fathers or even grandfathers. And yet the Mormon church had--what was it, 8 million dollars?-- to spend on ending same sex marriage in the state of California. What hypocrites. And I'm hearing that Romney, a Mormon, is the man the repubs want to run for president again in the next presidential election.

3. Romney's mormonism isn't their problem in 2012
He was a CEO and vulture capitalist. I don't think we'll have much of a problem pointing that out to the public.

6. Then tax the Utah citizens more to fix the problem.

2. Surely you're not suggesting this kind of behavior is condoned...
by Utahns or Mormons?

5. If they don't do anything to
put an end to it, isn't that the same as condoning it?

7. The Mormon Church has a "look the other way" policy toward sexual
or physical abuse. They want these "problems" quietly worked out in private. Can't have the public knowing what a hotbed of perversion Utah Mormonism is.

And the abusers, being "priests" in the church if they are Mormon, are considered kings, and always right in whatever they do. Women and children are to obey without question.

10. That's flat out not true, and not applicable in this case
Whether the parties involved in these cases are Mormon are not, they have not been swept under the rug, they are being or have been prosecuted by the law, and the cases are out in the open.

Your understanding of Mormon doctrine is also not correct. Being a priest or elder in the church is not a get out of jail free card. Crimes such as those listed would almost certainly lead to excommunication from the church, as well as any legal consequences.

4. Amazing how much more common pedophila seems to be
in dogmatic communities.

8. Chicken or egg - is it the dogmaic fixation that leads to these abuses
or is it the need for authority and control that leads to the dogma?

9. He sounds like the Joaquin Phoenix character in Midnight in the Garden of G&E
He was doing practically everybody in town, and those who weren't doing him yet were waiting in line to get their chance.

I wonder if these women were in communication with each other, and in a sense "tag teaming" this youngster, or whether he was seeking out older partners--in which case there are likely others.
