SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Crews are searching about 60 miles south of San Diego in the sea for what is believed to be a Navy helicopter that went down.

Coast Guard and Navy aircraft are searching for crew and wreckage of the MH-60S chopper, which went down about 2:45 p.m. some 50 miles from Camp Pendleton.

It's not immediately clear if the crew was able to get out safely.
