Senator Ensign throwing Bush under the bus...
...on the economy, and talking as if Republicans in Congress weren't his biggest enablers for the last eight years. Ridiculous.

1. Wish I was the bus driver.
I'd rack up thousands of miles in one spot.

6. I agree. In a speech a couple of years...

...ago, Al Gore talked of "a false belief, running into a solid reality...usually on a battlefield." THIS false belief has just run into a solid economic reality. And they know it.

I'd almost feel sorry for them if this wasn't so serious.

3. He is trying to rewrite the history of the Great Depression though blaming
much of it on the Democrats and this is after three Republican Presidents. He is also trying to blame some of what happened this time on Democrats saying we obstructed legislation that could have saved us.

5. I hear that all the time
From my right wing brother in law, "it was all the democrats fault"! I tell him, but Bush was in charge, and he says "yeah, Bush gave into them and let them take the country down"!

The majority of republicans in congress are going to do everything they can to paint the dems as the problem, and blame them for everything Bush did. Democrats have to put a stop to it now, and not let it happen. They need to get on the talk shows, and keep reminding the country who was in charge for the last 8 years, who took us to war, who wasted billions by giving it to companies like Haliburton, and who increased the deficit! There should be democrats on every talk show out there spreading the truth about why we are in the mess we are in now.

8. Question: Were Democrats in possession of either house of Congress
during any of *ss's 8 years? If I am right how can pugs blame anything on Dems?

11. They were the majority since November...
2006, but a majority without 51 votes. So they could only pass legislation if some Republicans joined...and that happened rarely.

On the few occasions when they DID get enough votes and passed legislation...Bush refused to sign it (veto). So in reality, to enact their legislation, they needed 67 votes...that's the 2/3 requirement to override a presidential veto.
