I called them yesterday & got them to reduce the room rate by $15 a night..They cut $3600.00 off the price with just one phone call :)

THAT'S how much Vegas is hurting.. They cut the Sun-Thurs add on rate by $20 a night..

My "groupies" are lovin' me right now:)

edit.. It's for my annual bowling tournament for my two leagues..about 300 people go every year..since 1991 :)

5. If they aren't using government bailout money...
...why would you object to someone who is actually spending money and helping to stimulate the economy?

Yes, Vegas is hurting, just like everywhere else. There are lots of "little people" who work here, who depend on tourism in order to keep their jobs.

7. Why? Like it or not, most of our economy is based around consumer spending,
so if people who can still afford it spend their money freely, I don't see how that could have anything but a positive net effect, as far as this current recession goes. If spending on "non-necessities" were to completely disappear, we'd be in even deeper shit than we are now. So I'm certainly not going to condemn the OP.

9. No sarcasm here.. we ARE stimulating the economy EVERY week
We pay our local bowling alley $1925.00 every week, and we pay for food there and for beer & sodas & our kiddies play the video games..

and we buy stuff from the pro shop..

Our annual tournament is paid for out of our prize fund, and every couple gets their weekend in vegas and entry into the tournament all paid by the league:)

it';s a win win:)

12. No offense intended
When I saw the words "junket" and "las Vegas" together, I got the wrong idea. I'm glad you and yours are doing well.

14. None taken.. one year I had 440 rooms for that same weekend
because we have to reserve them a year in advance, and we were contemplating changing hotel/bowling centers, so I had to have a bloc of rooms at each prospective place..

I felt almost like a wheeler dealer that year :)

6. ONLY $15 a night... for a group rate that books 120 rooms
for, what, a week or so?

You SO need to get this guy...

Right now, I can get a room for just the weekend at the Bellagio for under $100 a night. Unfortunately, I can't even afford THAT.

8. the dells in wisconsin has a huge waterpark restort that...
is`t open during the week because their is no business. the huge complex across the street is doing well because their rates are very reasonable for business groups or clubs. my crx club scored rooms for over half -off during peak season...
