1. What was the "I'm goin' to Disneyland" thing about?
I liked it when he slammed into the camera.

5. Super Bowl winners get a trip to Disneyland.
It's a football joke.

pretentiousness that is U2.

I didn't care for the whoring to the Disney corp.

This is the first Super Bowl(tm) halftime show that I've ever watched. EVER.

Go Steelers!!!

7. It was a joke
He wasn't whoring for Disney. He was making a joke, parodying the Super-bowl MVP cliche.

8. The Boss wasn't whoring.
Don't you remember when Emmit Smith said, "I'm going to Disneyland! I'm going to Disney World, too!" ? It was funny.

9. "pretentiousness that is U2"
U2 Bono. The other band members are pretty cool and really aren't full of themselves.

12. I've been a Springsteen fan for more than 30 years now
(Can't help it, it was in the water).

But I also love U2. I'd put them both in my top 3, to be honest.

3. Yep, definitely one of the better halftime shows.
I'd put Prince up there as well.

4. Yeah, Prince was the one all will be measured against ...
... this was a good one, although the nut-camera was not needed. Glad Madden didn't diagram that for us.

11. Nothing will ever be worse than
Aerosmith and (I believe it was) Britany Spears in the same half time show. I was so disappointed and embarrassed for Aerosmith.

14. I had salacious thoughts about...
What would have happened to Brittney, backstage, after the set, in the old days when The Toxic Twins really were. ;-)

And she should go to her grave thanking whatever power or deity she holds in reverence that she didn't do that gig with Motley Crue. :D

15. i thought tom petty and heartbreakers put on a great half time show.
The *flying V rickenbacher* that came through the crowd was pretty cool.

****I am not a guitar person, so I don't know if I have the spelling/term right. But if you saw the show, you know what I mean.

16. The Boss and Prince have been the best so far
I still can't get over Prince's show. We had it on DVR and re-watched it a couple of times. One man had hundreds of millions watching his every move. ;-)

In the meantime, it's BOSS Time! I've loved his music till I was (ahem) fifteen. How great was it to see him live?

17. Prince was still the best.
I'm not a Springsteen fan by any measure but his performance was one of the better ones.

18. I'll compare Springsteen and U2.
Springsteen is musically better than U2. He has more complexity in his songs, lyrics and music both, than U2.

However, U2 is not as good musically as Bruce. I saw U2 in 2001 on the Elevation tour, and their lights, special effects, and sound system were far better than Bruce's. I saw Bruce in 2000, and the sound was quite muddy. There was too much midrange, and too many different guitarists that could not be separated aurally. There were Bruce, Patti, Little Steven, Todd Rundgren, and Nils Lofgren, that I saw. Too many guitars.

Better sound system: U2.

More complex music: Bruce.
