Iranian leader demands apology
Iranian leader demands US apology

Mr Ahmadinejad's remarks were the first since Mr Obama took office
Iran's president has responded to an overture by the new US president by demanding an apology for past US "crimes" committed against Iran.

The US "stood against the Iranian people in the past 60 years", Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said during an address in the western region of Khermenshah.

"Those who speak of change must apologise to the Iranian people and try to repair their past crimes," he said.

The US president has offered

9. As your link so rightly states
"an "intervention by America" in Iranian "internal affairs" and a "setback for democratic government" in Iran which left "a haunting and terrible legacy".

In other words you reap what you sow - commonly known these days as blowback.

I don't think we have anything in recent past to apologize to Iran for.

While I'm all for Obama having unrestricted talks with Iran (and all nations), I don't think starting with apologies is how we should begin.

ahma's playing his usual games. best to ignore this kind of bombast. But yeah, we owe the Iranians a boatload of apologies, and not just for that but for overthrowing Mossadegh in 1953 and for supporting the Shah.

steps toward coming to a relationship with Iran, and their president picks a fight right away.
