EVERYTIME I go ANYWHERE, there is this incendiary title to an article, and, when you read IT'S NOT ABOUT THAT AT ALL! They sicken me!

(INCLUDE ANDREA MITCHELL in this. She had New York "Clinton Gossip" today on MSNBC...)

2. I have the Straight Up Politics page bookmarked
(shows headlines for Politico, NYT, etc), and the Politico headlines are always so ridiculous....like "The Carolines Vs the Corys" (I didn't click that one today ), and "Sources say people think this person has bad breath!" (well, you know. Not really, but sort of ). It's really annoying too, because there will be the editorial headline, and all of the individual bloggers will post on their page a link to the editorial in different variaton (McCain says no to Stimulu; Maverick says he won't vote for ec plan" "Mav a no go" or something stupid), which show up as individual headlines on the Straight Up Politics page. They also act as if they have spies (like in that show Gossip Girl) that somehow overhear conversations that no one else hears. They are sketchy. Sometimes they get to breaking news before others, but as a whole, they seem quite silly and self important.

3. Politico is there to manipulate politically active Internet users.......
So far, Politico has worked on this quite hard,
and done very well.

4. Politico SUCKS!
I think I've read 2 decent articles after months of surfing. They are the on the cusp of being a GOP mouth piece to rival Faux.

7. Politico's founder and CEO is a Reaganite F.J. Ryan Jr.

It's also connected with ABC/Disney.

8. does anyone remember the weird
Obama's Mystery Man "Story" that Politico ran shortly before the election (like, in an editorial). It was all about how Obama had a "friend" that no one really knew about, that he "spent time" with....I felt like they were trying to put inuendo in the article or something, I didn't get why it was worthy of an editorial at all, and it ended up on the yahoo and aol page. It was just a friend that Obama had....isn't he allowed to have friends without checking with Politico first?

9. That was a hit piece based on nothing......
but politico hoped it would make a difference.

It didn't.

And that's the point, isn't it? They are trying to insert themselves and have some control over our system via their media reports. That's why I don't recognize them as credible. Plus they "sprung" up out of nowhere, and now they are as quoted as WAPO! The first time I heard about Politico.com was from words out of Bush's mouth...while he was on Television. That's how I figured they smelled.
